The Philadelphia Estate Practitioner Handbook (PEPH)
The Philadelphia Estate Practitioner Handbook (PEPH) is a resource for practitioners at all levels of expertise in the field, but especially for those who do not regularly practice before the Orphans’ Court or the Register of Wills. The PEPH provides forms, descriptions of procedure, and practice tips for a wide variety of situations in the areas of wills, trusts, estates, guardianships, non-profit corporations in certain circumstances, and fiduciaries generally. Please be advised that the PEPH was last revised in 2002, and there have been significant changes to the law and procedural rules since that time. Use this resource at your own risk. The Rules and Practice Committee of the Probate and Trust Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association is presently revising the PEPH, and hopes to offer an updated version soon. The PEPH is divided into three books:
- The Blue Book
The Blue Book discusses practice and procedure before the Register of Wills of Philadelphia County.
- The Green Book
The Green Book presents samples and forms for use before the Register of Wills of Philadelphia County, and the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County, Orphans’ Court Division.
- The Red Book
The Red Book discusses practice and procedure before the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County, Orphans’ Court Division.
