The Board of Governors establishes the official policy of the Philadelphia Bar Association and looks to the Association's sections, committees and divisions for recommendations on areas of interest or concern. The Association must act as one unified body and the Board of Governors normally adopts official positions via resolutions. The Board of Governors generally meets once each month to act on Association business. Procedurally, sections, committees or divisions present resolutions to the Board with a full report on the issues involved and include supporting and opposing views. The Board of Governors adopts or rejects the resolution as the official stance of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Each resolution dictates the action to be taken to effectuate the adopted position and are accordingly acted upon by the Chancellor and staff.
