Mission Statement
The purpose of the sub-committee is to use the talents and abilities of our membership to encourage and foster charitable efforts and community service designed to benefit the community at large in the greater Philadelphia area with a focus on a "hands on, boots on the ground" approach.
The sub-committee will endeavor to hold a monthly collection for a designated charitable organization at the ten (10) monthly Lunch-n-Learn CLE's sponsored by the Workers' Compensation Section. In addition, a charity organization will be selected for the April Awards Luncheon and December Holiday Party.
The sub-committee will coordinate a minimum of three (3) community service events or volunteering opportunities for participation by the members hip of the Workers' Compensation Section during each calendar year.
Members
The sub-committee shall consist of a maximum of six (6) members, one (1) of whom shall be designated as chair. The initial term of service shall be one (1) year with no limit on the number of terms the member may serve.
The membership limitation of six (6) is subject to amendment upon a two thirds (2/3rds) vote of the initial membership.
Any new member must be approved by a two thirds (2/3rds) majority of the then existing membership.
Communication
The mode of communication and voting for this sub-committee shall be via e-mail or telephonically.
Meetings
The sub-committee shall meet as much or as little as deemed necessary by the chair to effectuate the purpose of the sub-committee. The executive board meeting will be attended by the chair of the sub-committee solely. If the sub-committee chair is unable to attend the executive board meeting then one member shall be designated to attend in said place.
Designation of Charitable Organization and Community Service Events/ Volunteering Opportunity:
The designation of charitable organizations to receive donations and community service events or volunteering opportunities chosen for participation by the Workers' Compensation Section will be determined by a two thirds (2/3rds) majority vote of the then existing membership.
The chair of the sub-committee will then present the charitable organization and/or volunteering opportunity to the full executive board for discussion and then approval by voting members of the Executive Board
