ADVANCING CIVICS EDUCATION MISSION STATEMENT
The Advancing Civics Education Committee (“ACE”) believes that informed and engaged citizens are crucial to sustaining a democratic government. We believe that a “government of the people, by the people, for the people” is only possible when the people are supported and prepared. We cannot ensure that our government works for the people if our citizens do not know how to engage. Going to law school should not be a prerequisite to learning American Civics and Constitutional guarantees – we must make sure that people have the access and education they need.
As lawyers, we have taken an Oath to support, obey, and defend the Constitution of the United States. ACE helps fulfill that commitment by connecting the 9,000 members of the Philadelphia Bar Association with meaningful opportunities to educate and empower the community. Whether you have a passion for civic education, mentorship, or advocacy, there are various ways to get involved based on your interests and availability.
