Alice – Bella Vista Gem Totally Worth the Splurge

Whenever my wife Gia visits a restaurant for the first time and something bad happens – such as a screwed up reservation, sub-par service, or mediocre food - she jokes that it is “dead to her.” One such scenario happened shortly after Alice opened in our Bella Vista neighborhood a few years ago. We had a lovely birthday dinner planned with our pals “Nigel” and “Lola”, but Alice switched its reservation platform and lost Lola’s reservation. Accordingly, Alice became dead to us. For years.

2025 DEI Scholarship

Every year, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (“DEI”) Committee of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association recognizes a deserving law student to receive the DEI Scholarship for assistance with spring semester tuition.

Public Interest Spotlight

Partnering with the Pennsylvania Innocence Project

For the last several years, our firm has partnered with the Pennsylvania Innocence Project (PAIP) to challenge the wrongful conviction and sentence of life in prison imposed on our client for second degree murder, robbery, and criminal conspiracy.  This summer, following negotiations with the district attorney prompted by DNA testing that excluded our client’s DNA from the crime scene, the court ordered the client’s immediate release—25 years to the day after he had been arrested for the crime.

2025 Annual Amber Racine Turkey Drive

The Barristers’ Association is pleased to announce its 2025 Annual Amber Racine Turkey Drive, which will take place at 8:00 am on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Salvation Army Haven of Hope Community Center (1340 Brown Street Philadelphia, PA 19123).

Renamed in honor of our beloved Amber Racine, the longtime co-chair who championed our effort for many years, the Turkey Drive identifies local families in need of our support during the holidays. As the fluctuating economy continues to affect the community, and as Philadelphia’s poverty rate continues to increase, we are asking for your support to help meet our goal of providing Thanksgiving dinners to even more families this year.

Individual donations can be made online at: Https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=LDMAA2ACKT2W4
