The renaissance in East Kensington is nothing short of astounding. For those who haven’t ventured there recently, it’s an eye-opening trip to say the least. Nestled in a small space, this BYOB has just 28 seats, and is a jewel for those who enjoy fine food at reasonable prices.
It is no secret Judge Manager Todd Seelig is in the midst of a banner start to 2025. In the span of six months, he has been appointed as Judge Manager of the Southeastern District of the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Office of Adjudication and is now the 2025 recipient of the esteemed Martha J. Hampton Award, which is presented annually by the Workers’ Compensation Section to the attorney or judge who best exemplifies those qualities which were important to Martha J. Hampton: compassion to others and dedication to the ideals of the Workers’ Compensation Law. These accolades come as no surprise to those who have had the privilege to appear before him, worked alongside him or simply have shared a conversation. His selfless devotion to the betterment of the Workers’ Compensation Bar is apparent to all.

The Philadelphia Bar Association is partnering with Carpenters’ Hall historic site to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Pennsylvania Provincial Conference in 2026. This June 1776 colonial gathering authorized the creation of Pennsylvania’s 1776 constitution and influenced the adoption of the Declaration of Independence just a week later. Due to the significance of this event, the Pennsylvania General Assembly has designated Carpenters’ Hall as the official birthplace of the Commonwealth.
You are invited to the Justinian Society's annual law student scholarship luncheon on Tuesday, June 10. This year, they are honoring Domenico “Big Dom” DiSandro, Senior Advisor to the General Manager, Chief Security Officer and Head of Gameday Coaching Operations for the 2x Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles! There will be introductory remarks by Congressman Robert A. Brady (Ret.).

The legal industry is experiencing intense competition that is reshaping the landscape for law firms. Legal marketing agency, PracticeMadePerfect (PMP) conducted research and published a white paper about this trend. They found that factors such as a fixed number of compensable cases, an increase in demand, and the perceived commoditization of legal services are contributing to this shift. In previous decades, fewer firms invested in marketing, allowing those who did to build successful practices. However, as more firms enter the market and increase their advertising spend, the competition for cases has intensified, making growth harder.
