Ambrosia: A Philadelphia BYOB Gem

My Trusted Companion and I search the region high and low for BYOB restaurants. While we also love restaurants that provide a liquor list, there’s something reassuring about being able to bring just what you want to drink, to accompany what you trust will be a wonderful meal. George Profi and Fredi Loka, owners of this venerable BYOB in the Fitler Square neighborhood, have just enlarged their space. They have added additional inside dining space, which they sorely needed, and also now have an outdoor patio for dining. This change merited an updated review.

Update from the Centennial Arts in the Court Committee: New Painting Unveiled at the Spring Reception

At the 2024 Workers’ Compensation Spring Reception and Awards Ceremony, Judge Olin unveiled a new painting, which will be the eleventh in the series of paintings so far.  Entitled “Philadelphia feeds the world,” the 4 feet by 6 feet piece is a tribute to the Automat.  Created by Horn & Hadart Baking Company, the Automat consisted of waiter-less, automated cafeterias where patrons could retrieve food from coin-operated vending machines.

The Bar Foundation's Work Goes Beyond Grants

As Philadelphia continues to evolve, so will the Foundation. We are proud to be a chapter in so many lawyers' professional stories and will continue to help them be the best lawyer they can be.

The Ever Evolving Legal Field

Model Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1 states that a lawyer has a duty of competence to their clients, specifically that a lawyer shall provide competent representation to a client. Competent representation requires legal knowledge, skill, thoroughness, and preparation. This rule is first, as it is paramount in being a successful and adept attorney.
