Chancellor Jen Coatsworth issued a statement congratulating U.S. District Judge Mitchell S. Goldberg for being selected Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and praising the accomplishments of outgoing Chief Judge Juan R. Sánchez.
This year marks the 45th Anniversary of the Philadelphia Bar Association 5K Run/Walk!
Join us March 21 for an important program about how parenting impacts the legal careers of mothers and fathers.

On Thursday, June 13, the Philadelphia Bar Association will move the admission of up to 50 members to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. The admission ceremony will take place before the full Supreme Court sitting in Washington, D.C.
Applications will be accepted on a first come, first-serve basis and all applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 15.

Since the circulation of Lorino, questions have been raised on both sides of the bar concerning the standards that should be applied by Judges when determining whether to impose attorney’s fees in contested cases where a reasonable contest has been established. To address some of these concerns and gain insight from defense and claimant perspectives, I recently interviewed Valerie Lieberman and Jenifer Kaufman, two well-known and respected attorneys within the workers’ compensation community who have been handling workers’ compensation claims for more than twenty years.
