I believe the single best time to get involved in the Bar Association is as a young lawyer.
The 2022 Access to Justice Awards Benefit will be held on October 18, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fitler Club in Center City. We hope you will join us!
Philadelphia Bar Association election season begins this month, and we’re seek- ing strong leaders who want to make their voices heard in our community. Candidates can run for Vice Chancellor, Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Secretary, Assistant Treasurer or one of five seats on the Board of Governors, each of which carries a three-year term. Members of the Young Lawyers Division can run for one of seven open seats on the YLD Executive Committee.
While most attorneys are aware that even the unintentional mishandling of legal fees could have serious ethical implications, many find it difficult to evaluate what exactly is required of them in any given situation.
LCD’s mission is to empower low-income people with disabilities and the deaf and hard of hearing in the Philadelphia region to achieve inclusion, independence, and justice by providing free legal representation to overcome legal obstacles that would otherwise affect their independence, health, or quality of life.
I am again partnering with CLS pro bono in the forthcoming case A.W. v. Commonwealth, to challenge the constitutionality of Pennsylvania’s ChildLine registry, a system that unlawfully deprives individuals of their rights to due process and reputational protections under the Pennsylvania Constitution.
