PFA's for the Rich and Famous: Discussing the Effect of Media on Abuse Trials in the Public and Private

Program Originally Presented Tuesday, October 28, 2025

As Family Court pleadings, transcripts and other legal documents are becoming more accessible to the public, details that most people want to remain private, are made public and are openly discussed and critiqued. When a famous person is accused of intimate partner violence, the public naturally judges and chooses a side. Are victims in Intimate Partner Violence that involve famous people less likely to be believed because of the offender’s status? This CLE program focuses on how domestic violence hearings that are followed by the media impact other domestic violence cases and perception of domestic violence in general.

Attend this program to examine the impact of media coverage and public attention on abuse trials involving high-profile individuals.
