Firearms are now the leading cause of death among children ages 1yr. - 17 yrs. A 2024 report from the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions reveals that firearm-related deaths in this age group have increased by 106% since 2013 and have remained the top cause of death since 2020. 

In this CLE session panelists will address:

  • How the presence of firearms in the home is considered in child custody matters
  • Strategies for ensuring child safety
  • Balancing safety concerns with the preservation of parents’ constitutional rights
