Sentencing Alternatives to Incarceration & Probation by Using Restorative Justice

Program Originally Presented Thursday, December 18, 2025

This one-hour CLE is designed to educate criminal lawyers on the concept of sentencing alternatives to incarceration and probation. One such alternative to these sentencing methods is to take a “restorative justice” approach to resolve criminal cases. This course will explain the historical background concerning the concept of restorative justice along with a discussion about its proliferation throughout the United States.  Additionally, the course will address the nuts and bolts of restorative justice and how its application can be used in resolving Philadelphia criminal cases, with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, in a non-carceral way that will reduce harm on all parties involved.

Discover the benefits and challenges of sentencing alternatives to incarceration and probation. Learn how these options offer effective solutions beyond traditional imprisonment.
