2025 Annual State of the Commerce Court Update
Program Originally Presented Friday, August 22, 2025

This 2025 Annual State of the Commerce Court Update program is offered in 2 parts beginning with the State of the Philadelphia Commerce Case Management Program. Judge Paula A. Patrick reflects on her new role as Supervising Judge of the Program, introduces the new Commerce judge, Hon. Michael E. Erdos, and veteran Commerce judge, Hon. James C. Crumlish, III. The judges provide tips regarding court interaction, guidance on their practices and preferences and directions as to how to volunteer to become a Judge Pro Tempore (JPT).

Then after a short break, hour two offers an ethics presentation, Is It Your Conflict?  Recognizing and Addressing Conflicts of Interest in Commercial Litigation, addressing the law and practicalities of conflicts of interest in commercial litigation.  Panel members will examine common situations where conflicts arise, the controlling legal principles, and how practitioners should deal with them in the office, with clients, and in court.
