The Matrimonial Attorney's Go-to Documents Before, During and After a Client's Marriage

Program Originally Presented Monday, June 9, 2025

In prior generations, couples who were engaged to be married often believed it was a taboo to seek legal advice from a divorce attorney before marriage. It was believed that divorce attorneys were only needed by people who were obtaining a divorce. As the mindset of engaged couples has changed, it is no longer a taboo to seek legal advice from a divorce attorney before marriage. In fact, seeking legal advice from a divorce attorney before marriage is recommended to couples with assets. This recommendation leads couples to the offices of matrimonial attorneys before and during marriage. As the use of matrimonial attorneys is expanding, the legal practice of matrimonial attorneys is also expanding. Before, during, and after marriage, several legal documents can be important. This panel will address how to educate and empower clients with the necessary legal documents before, during and after a client’s marriage.
