Year-In-Review: Examining 2023 Litigation Trends, Part II
Ghost Guns: The Untraceable Threat

Program originally presented Fri, December 8, 2023

In this program, panelists explore how gun regulations, or the lack thereof has contributed to the growing ghost gun problem in Philadelphia. Ghost guns are unserialized, untraceable guns that are the source of increasing violence. In October, amid the popularity of these weapons across the nation, the Biden Administration reinstated the regulations on Ghost guns. Panelists offer guidance regarding current methods of prevention and advocacy already taking place. They will provide an overview of relevant case law, a conversation with legislative representatives that are trying to hold the gun industry accountable, and a summary of litigation efforts to stem the rising, dangerous tide of “ghost guns” as well as ongoing gun violence prevention measures. Learn how the pieces may be ordered and how easily ghost guns are made. Finally, hear a discussion regarding the City’s lawsuit.
