Knee Injuries In Workers’ Compensation: Don’t Limp Into Litigation Unprepared

Program originally presented Friday, October 20, 2023

Serious knee injuries, sometimes requiring surgery, can happen in the workplace even more often than they happen to star athletes. In a study published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (2022), workplace knee injuries account for 15-20% of lost time injuries resulting in 16 days away from work on average and can be one of the more long-lasting setbacks for employees. As the largest joint in the body, the knee is prone to many different types of injuries.

In this CLE program, panelists Dr. Navin Ramani, Jason Krasno, Esq., and Lee Fiederer, Esq., will take a comprehensive look at knee injuries from the medical, plaintiff and defense perspectives. Dr. Ramani will explain the various knee injuries, how they can occur, their potential recovery time, as well as pitfalls to avoid during recovery.  Attorneys Krasno and Fiederer will address common legal/medical issues that may arise during cases such as identifying potential exacerbation/aggravation of pre-existing conditions and differentiating chronic degenerative conditions that might be unrelated to workplace trauma.

Attend this program to hear a comprehensive review of knee injuries and the most common issues WC Practitioners face in this type of litigation.
