Black Assets Matter: Exploring the Racial Wealth Gap in America

Program originally presented Wednesday, August 30, 2023

Wealth is not evenly distributed among Americans today, as many of us are all too aware.  This economic divide among us has historical roots dating back to the foundation of our nation. In this CLE presentation, Howard University School of Law Professor Keeva Terry will provide a contextual overview of the racial wealth gap in America and will explore a few notable factors that produced and continue to perpetuate the racial wealth gap. In addition, Professor Terry will address some ways that transactional attorneys, and particularly probate attorneys, can help mitigate the racial wealth gap and promote the preservation of assets in communities of color.

Join your colleagues for this practical examination of the racial wealth gap and how transactional attorneys can help promote the preservation of assets in communities of color.
