How to Handle Drug Testing in Your Cases

Program originally presented Wednesday, June 14, 2023

Drug tests can be easily ordered by the court and have the potential to make or break a case.  In fact, in the criminal law and family law areas, the results of drug tests can significantly affect the outcomes of hearings involving one's personal liberty and family.  Thus, it is imperative that practitioners stay informed about how to handle these tests when they arise.

This dynamic program will examine the essentials of what attorneys should know about drug testing, including:

  • How drug screening differs from drug testing
  • When and how drug tests are ordered
  • How to enter a drug test into evidence
  • How to interpret a drug screen and test
  • How to challenge a drug screen and test
  • How to handle drug testing with individuals who are taking certain prescription medications and/or have a medical marijuana card

Attend this CLE program to learn what you need to know to effectively handle drug testing in your cases, how drug tests can impact proceedings, and why drug testing is essential in some cases.
