Climate Change and Resiliency: Emergent Issues in Environmental and Real Estate Law

Originally Presented Wednesday, April 19, 2023

Extreme weather events, large wildfires, ocean warming and acidification, extended periods of drought and other deleterious effects of climate change are becoming more frequent as a result of a warming planet. These climate-driven events are significantly impacting communities in many ways, impairing air and water quality, polluting land, increasing health risks of residents, and in the real estate market, touching every aspect of the industry, from rising prices to the decline in popularity of specific regions. The ability to prepare for, recover from, and adapt to these impacts is called “climate resilience.”

In this CLE program, our featured speakers will discuss how issues relating to climate change have impacted environmental and real estate law, and how those developments interact with government responses to the issue, highlighting developments and challenges in Philadelphia and beyond.
