Whether it is a paid or pro bono client, lawyers are tasked with providing the highest quality legal assistance. By acknowledging cultural differences, lawyers can provide services that are more aligned with their clients’ values and priorities. Culturally competent lawyering requires a relationship of trust, building rapport and empowering clients. People of different cultures may communicate in different ways or have varying cultural values that can impact problem-solving and decision making.

This CLE will explore diversity in action, cultural humility, ways to be a more mindful lawyer, and practical strategies to work with clients of varying backgrounds.
