Non-Traditional Strategies to Deal with Problematic Consultative Examiner Reports

What You Will Learn

  • The presenters will examine recent examples where representatives challenged problematic Consultative Examiner (CE) reports. These include Hart v. Colvin, where a class of claimants challenged SSA for denial of due process when they did not provide notice to claimants after the CE who provided a report in their case was disqualified for poor performance.  Speakers discuss recent efforts to sue CE providers for fraud when their report misstates key facts.

Non-Traditional Strategies to Deal with Problematic Consultative Examiner Reports

Program Originally Presented Friday, December 16, 2022

If the Social Security Administration has requested that you see a CE or consultative examiner this means they feel there is insufficient information or medical evidence to prove the disability, and they need additional information to make either the Social Security Disability Insurance or Supplemental Security Income disability determination.

The presenters will examine recent examples where representatives challenged problematic Consultative Examiner (CE) reports.

Attend this program to hear potential strategies to handle problematic CE reports.
