Advocacy, Argument & Persuasion: The Power of Direct, Clear, Honest Legal Advocacy

Program originally presented Tuesday, August 30, 2022

The purpose of this encore program is to address the fundamentals of persuasive advocacy. “Persuasive” speech has its roots going back to at least Ancient Greece and the first democracies. More than two thousand years later, the main points of performance remain the same, including knowing your audience (and preparing your remarks accordingly), taking honest and direct positions supported by the facts, and learning how to address argument weaknesses to turn them into a strength. Advocacy is an art; this course may assist you with thinking about new ways to approach the canvas. You will not win every argument in court; if you are not persuasive, you will not win any.

The featured speaker, with two-plus decades of trials and appeals experience before courts across the country, will offer guidance regarding:

  • Knowing your audience
  • Conveying honesty in your writing and speech
  • Addressing your weaknesses directly and turning them into strengths (the law and the facts)

Earn your credit while hearing practical advocacy tips for any level attorney.

Featured Speaker:
Jack Siegal, Esq.
Member, McGlinchey Stafford PLLC
Boston /New York City / Irvine
