What a Difference a River Makes: How the Local Rules and Practices Vary in Federal Court in NJ v. PA

Program Originally Presented Monday, August 29, 2022

Although Pennsylvania and New Jersey are separated only by a river, there is an ocean of difference in the handling of employment and other cases in federal courts in each state. This practice-oriented program will highlight the substantial variations in the Local Rules and customs in the District Court of New Jersey versus the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. We will cover the key differences in each court in the use of magistrate judges, confidentiality orders, discovery, pretrial orders, settlement conferences, and filing documents under seal, to name a few.

This program will be useful for all federal court practitioners but focused especially on common issues in employment law cases.

Attend this program and hear common practice issues in employment law cases and the substantial differences as you cross the river.
