Navigating FMLA and the ADA in a Post-COVID World

Program Originally Presented Wednesday, August 25, 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic has left an indelible impact on the workplace, causing employers to deal with a wave of medical leaves and a shift to a more virtual workplace. As a result, employers face a host of compliance issues in navigating vaccine, leave and accommodation issues. The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) each protect employees who need to take time off from work because of medical, disability, or family issues.

In this timely CLE encore, panelists will provide an overview of employee and employer rights and examine the areas where the two laws intersect and overlap. Additionally, panelists highlight what specific protection are afforded to employees, and what obligations employers have when an employee is on job-protected leave. Finally, this CLE will address the ADA and FMLA implications concerning the COVID-19 pandemic and employee bonus and incentive programs related to workforce vaccination efforts.

Hear the latest issues regarding leave requests, FMLA and ADA accommodations, and workforce vaccination efforts in the Post-COVID environment.
