Posturing Yourself for Remote Workplace Wellness

Program originally presented Wednesday, March 10, 2021

Posture has important implications for your long-term health and well-being. Proper body alignment can help prevent excess strain on your joints, muscles and spine — alleviating pain, and reducing the likelihood of injury. As a bonus, correct posture can boost your productivity and mood, minimize stress, as well as help you use your muscles more efficiently.

Studies have found that body posture affects confidence in thoughts and actions. The “power pose” sends a signal to the brain, and what begins as a neural impulse turns into an actual, physiological response that boosts brainpower. As attorneys, in and out of court, you must display and command a confidence to attract clients, as well as properly and successfully advocate for clients.

This CLE presentation addresses how posture can affect how you feel and what ergonomics can do about it. Our featured speaker, a licensed physical therapist, offer guidance on posture’s implications for your legal presence and long-term health and well-being, as well as demonstrate techniques you can practice to improve posture and productivity.
