This encore CLE examines how achieving environmental justice in communities within Philadelphia remains a challenge. Hear about current local and regional initiatives to address environmental justice concerns.

The featured speakers provide an overview of environmental justice concepts and discuss the challenges overburdened communities continue to face with respect to environmental justice. The presentation highlights policy initiatives from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to address environmental justice and the latest regulatory update on the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s efforts to implement the state’s environmental justice law, one of the first pieces of state legislation in the country to address environmental justice.

Attend to hear an overview of Environmental Justice concepts, current legislative developments, and policy initiatives to address these concerns in the Philadelphia region.
