Representing clients in Protection from Abuse matters often presents challenges that are not present in other areas of family law practice. When a petition for Protection from Abuse is filed there is often a pending criminal case with the same facts and parties. In this program, participants will learn how to use each part of the criminal case as a tool to effectively litigate the Protection from Abuse case. The program will also offer guidance and best practices for litigating Protection from Abuse matters and provide resources for survivors of domestic violence.
