The “BURNED OUT” Legal Professional

Program originally presented Tuesday, December 21, 2021
Presented with Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers

With the demands of the practice, and the onset of yet another variant wave of COVID increasing infection rates, a legal professional's journey through the profession may sometimes foster a mindset that can contribute to a deteriorating sense of well-being. An individual’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being may impact the legal professional’s ability to represent clients; to make responsible choices in the practice of law; to make sound decisions when hearing a case or mediating a matter, and to maintain professionalism with colleagues and within the courtroom. Maintaining mental, emotional, and physical well-being is an important aspect of maintaining competence to practice law and sit on the bench.

This ethics CLE that will address "Burnout," but more importantly solutions to combat the stress and strains of the profession, ongoing pandemic, new variant concerns (and upcoming holidays). We will also discuss the confidential and safe resources offered by Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers (LCL).

We are learning that not only do our devices work best after a hard reset but so do we.

Laurie Besden, Esq.
