Ethics in Practice: Recent Examples of What Not to Do

Program originally presented Wednesday, June 8, 2022

Many recent cases and disciplinary decisions have highlighted improper conduct by attorneys in large and small law firms which have resulted in sanctions and/or disciplinary action. In light of these decisions, one must consider:

  • What are your responsibilities when reading court orders?
  • How should you treat opposing counsel?
  • What are your obligations when making representations to the court?
  • What are your duties to your client when settling cases?
  • Do issues related to COVID excuse your mistakes?

This encore CLE program will review the recent errors by counsel in these situations, address the applicable Rules of Professional Conduct, and discuss how to avoid these pitfalls.

Attend this program to hear guidance on ethics in practice and learn how to avoid disciplinary actions.
