Philadelphia Bar Association Chancellor Marc J. Zucker issued the following statement regarding the results of yesterday’s general elections:

“The Philadelphia Bar Association extends its sincere congratulations to all of the candidates who prevailed in yesterday’s general election. We were pleased in particular that all of the judicial candidates rated ‘Highly Recommended’ by our Commission on Judicial Selection & Retention were elected to the bench at the appellate and local levels. We also were proud to witness the historic election of our city’s first female mayor, Cherelle Parker, and to see Rue Landau, our former Director of Law and Policy, become the first openly LGBTQ member of City Council. We look forward to working closely with each of them and serving as resources to all in their new roles.”
