Philadelphia Bar Association Chancellor Marc J. Zucker released the following statement, congratulating the Honorable Damaris Garcia, who recently was appointed by Gov. Josh Shapiro and confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate as a judge on the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas bench.
“The Philadelphia Bar Association extends heartfelt congratulations to Judge Garcia on her interim appointment to the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas,” Zucker said. “A former vice chair of our Board of Governors and officer of our State Civil Litigation Section, Judge Garcia has had a strong and collegial relationship with the Philadelphia Bar Association. Our Commission on Judicial Selection & Retention rated her as “Recommended” prior to last spring’s primary. We know that her experience in civil litigation will be a tremendous asset to the bench and look forward to working with her in her new role.”
