In light of the tragic events that occurred in Charlottesville, Va., this weekend, Philadelphia Bar Association Chancellor Deborah R. Gross today issued the following statement:
“What happened in Charlottesville is nothing short of terrorism. We condemn such acts of violence and mourn the tragic loss that occurred as a result of hatred and bigotry. There is no room for such intolerance in our nation and we fully support the Department of Justice’s investigation regarding these potential civil rights violations. As Merck CEO Kenneth C. Frazier so aptly stated, we 'must reject expressions of hatred, bigotry and group supremacy, which run counter to the American ideal that all people are created equal.'”
