On behalf of the 12,000-member Philadelphia Bar Association, Chancellor Gaetan J. Alfano released the following statement regarding today's announced resignation of Suspended Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice J. Michael Eakin:
"Hopefully we can put this chapter behind us, as public faith in the integrity and fairness of our justice system is paramount. I urge Gov. Wolf to nominate, and send to the state Senate for consideration, a qualified candidate to fill the vacancy created by Justice Eakin's resignation as soon as possible."
