The Philadelphia Bar Association’s Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention is conducting its biannual poll on the qualifications of judges seeking retention in the November 2025 general election.

Attorneys: The Commission needs your help – take the poll and give us your professional opinion on each judge’s qualifications.

***Members of the judiciary are excluded from participation***

Here’s how to participate:

How do I find the poll?

All Philadelphia attorneys received an email with a  link to the poll on Monday, May 5 on behalf of the Association by Intelliscan Inc., an independent survey provider.

I can’t find the email – can I still take the poll?

Yes. If you want to take the poll, please use this link:

Note: You must enter your Pennsylvania Attorney ID to access the poll. Need to look up your ID? You can do that here.

Why does the Association administer the Judicial Poll?

The Association’s Judicial Commission soon will be evaluating these judges, and we value the input of attorneys who know the judges well to give us feedback on their legal, ethical and administrative capabilities. Pursuant to Section 7.4.2.1 of the bar association’s bylaws, we have prepared a poll seeking your professional opinion as to each judge’s qualifications.

The results of this poll are a critical starting point for the Commission’s evaluation. The Commission considers the percentage scores and anonymous comments for each judge, along with other pertinent information developed in its investigation. The Commission will report its findings and recommendations to the legal community and to the public.

Will my responses be kept confidential?

Your responses are solely intended for the internal use of the Commission and will not be released to the public.

What kind of information are you looking for?

As generalized statements are of limited value in assessing a judge’s qualifications, we encourage you to provide sufficient detail in the comment portion of your responses to allow the Commission to investigate any concerns or supportive statements adequately.

If you are uncomfortable sharing specific details, we encourage you to reach out directly via email to judicialcomm@philabar.org so that a member of our investigative division may interview you.

If you choose to be interviewed, your identity will not be disclosed to the candidate or the public, but may be disclosed to the Commission and an investigative team.  In either event, please complete the poll first.

What is the deadline to complete the poll?

Don’t delay – the poll will close at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 30.
