Get admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court! On Thursday, June 13, the Philadelphia Bar Association will move the admission of up to 50 members to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. The admission ceremony will take place before the full Supreme Court sitting in Washington, D.C. Chancellor Jen Coatsworth will be the movant.

Interested in taking part in this unique opportunity? Here’s what to do next:

  • Review the eligibility requirements and application instructions, which can be found in the first two paragraphs and bulleted list linked here
  • Download the admission forms
  • Read the instructions carefully! Once you have determined that you are eligible for admission, print and complete the admission form. Do not delay in doing this, as you need to obtain and submit with your application an original Certificate of Good Standing from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
  • The instructions and guidelines are very specific and must be followed scrupulously. Do not fold the application or use staples. Use paper clips only. Please note that you must have two sponsors who are admitted to the Supreme Court sign the admission form.

Once you have successfully completed the admission form, please mail it, along with a check for the $200 application fee made payable to the Philadelphia Bar Association, to: Attn: Allie Hooven, Philadelphia Bar Association, 1101 Market Street, 10th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19107. Do not send the application directly to the Supreme Court
